Ingredients:
1/2 Cup moongdal (yellow split dal)
2 green chillies slit
1/2 tsp ginger garlic paste
Turmeric a pinch
1/4 tsp urad dal
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
2 dry red chillies broken in half
7-8 Curry leaves
Asafoetida a pinch
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
1 tbsp lemon juice (adjust)
Cilantro to garnish
2 green chillies slit

2 dry red chillies broken in half

1 tbsp oil

1 tbsp lemon juice (adjust)
Cilantro to garnish
Process:
- Soak moongdal for half an hour and then cook it in a pressure cooker for 2 whistles or on a stove top till done.
- Heat oil and once it is hot add dry red chilles and fry for 30 secs and add the urad dal and fry till they turn a little brown and add the mustard seeds, cumins seeds and asafoetida.
- Fry them for 30 secs and add the curry leaves and ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell goes off.
- Add the cooked dal along with turmeric pwd, green chillies, salt and a cup of water.
- Cover and let it come to a boil and then boil it for 5 mins on medium.
- Adjust salt and garnish with cilantro and switch off the flame.
- Now add the lemon juice according to taste.
- Serve hot with rice.
