Ingredients:
1 Cup Semolina/Sooji
1/4 cup chopped onions
1 green chillies slit
1/2 inch piece ginger grated or chopped into small pieces
1/2 tsp red chilli pwd (adjust)
2 tbsp Cashews (you can also use peanuts instead)
1/4 tsp cumin seeds
1/4 tsp mustard seeds
1/4 tsp urad dal
1/4 tsp chana dal
salt as needed
2 cups water
few curry leaves
1 tbsp oil

few curry leaves
1 tbsp oil
Process:
- Dry roast the semolina on medium flame for about 5-10 mins till the it gets light golden color, turnoff the heat and keep it aside.
- Heat oil and once it is hot add the chana dal, urad dal and cashews and fry till they turn golden brown.
- Add the mustard and cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs and then add the curry leaves, grated or chopped ginger, slit green chilli and fry for a minute.
- Add the chopped onions and fry them till they turn translucent.
- Once the onions are done add two cups of water and salt according to taste.
- Cover and let it come to a boil.
- After it start to boil slowly add the roasted semolina. It is very important that you keep stirring while adding semolina to avoid forming any lumps.
- Cover and cook on medium for 5 mins and switch off the flame.
- Serve hot with any chutney and sambar of your choice.
