Simple Chicken Curry



Ingredients:

1 pound chicken

2 medium onions chopped
2 green chillies slit
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
1 tsp red chilli pwd (adjust)
1 tsp coriander pwd
1 tsp cumin pwd
1/2 tsp garam masala pwd
1/4 tsp turmeric pwd
salt to taste
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1 spring curry leaves
2 tbsp oil
cilantro to granish


Process:
  • Cut the chicken pieces. Wash 2 times with water and finally one time with turmeric water to remove any impurities.
  • Heat oil and add cumin seeds, curry leaves and fry till the curry leaves turn crisp.
  • Add the chopped onions and slit green chillies and fry till onion turn transparent and little brown.
  • Add the ginger garlic paste and fry for 1-2 mins till the raw smell goes off.
  • Next add the chicken pieces along with some salt and turmeric pwd.
  • Cover and cook on medium for 5-8 mins.
  • Add a cup of water along with coriander pwd, cumin pwd, red chilli pwd, garam masala pwd.
  • Adjust salt and again cover and cook till the chicken is completly cooked and you get the desired gravy consistency.
  • Switch off flame and garnish with cilantro.
  • Serve with rice, rotis or any pulao's.
NOTE: Add water in the curry depending on the amount of gravy you want. If you like bit watery gravy to mix it with rice add more water and if you want thick gravy add less water.
