Andhra Peethala Iguru (Crab Masala)



Ingredients:

2 Crabs

1 onion chopped
2 green chillies slit
1 tbsp ginger garlic paste
2 medium tomatoes chopped
1 tsp red chilli pwd (adjust)
1 1/2 tsp coriander pwd
1 tsp cumin pwd
1 tsp garam masala pwd
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
Turmeric pinch
Salt according to taste
2 tbsp oil
Cilantro to garnish


Process:


  • Clean and cut the crab, and keep it aside.
  • Heat oil and add the cumin seeds and fry for 30 secs.
  • Add the chopped onions, green chillies and fry till the onions turn translucent.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and fry till the raw smell disappears.
  • Add the chopped tomatoes along with salt, red chilli pwd, coriander pwd, cumin pwd and garam masala.
  • Cover and cook on medium till the tomatoes turn mushy.
  • Add the cut crab pieces along with a cup of water.
  • Cover and cook for no more than 10 mins (crab gets cooked really fast)
  • Adjust salt, garnish with cilantro and switch off the flame.
  • Serve hot with plain rice or roti.
